Every workspace appears as a container within that storage account. Data in OneLake can be addressed as if it were one big ADLS storage account for the entire organization. OneLake supports the same ADLS Gen2 APIs and SDKs to be compatible with existing ADLS Gen2 applications including Azure Databricks. All tabular data is stored in OneLake in delta parquet format. This means when a data engineer loads data into a lakehouse using Spark and a SQL developer in a fully transactional data warehouse uses T-SQL to load data, everyone is still contributing to building the same data lake. All Fabric data items like data warehouses and lakehouses store their data automatically in OneLake in delta parquet format. Built on top of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, OneLake can support any type of file, structured or unstructured. Items can give tailored experiences for each persona such the Spark developer experience in a lakehouse.įor more information on how to get started using OneLake, see Creating a lakehouse with OneLake. Similar to how Office stores Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in OneDrive, Fabric stores lakehouses, warehouses, and other items in OneLake. Within a workspace, you can create data items and all data in OneLake is accessed through data items. Each workspace is part of a capacity that is tied to a specific region and is billed separately. Workspaces enable different parts of the organization to distribute ownership and access policies. Within a tenant, you can create any number of workspaces. While all data is within the boundaries set by the tenant admin, it's important that this admin doesn't become a central gatekeeper preventing other parts of the organization from contributing to OneLake. Any data that lands in OneLake is governed by default. Knowing where a customer’s organization begins and ends, provides a natural governance and compliance boundary, which is ultimately under the control of a tenant admin. To see if R installed correctly, open a new notebook in VS Code (open the Command Palette with Cmd-Shift-P, or by clicking on the wheel in the bottom left and selecting Command Palette, then type Jupyter Create New Notebook). Īfter installation is complete, execute the command: IRkernel::installspec() in R.Similarly, using Cmder on Windows you need to type something like (depending on installed version): /c/Program Files/R/R-3.6.0/bin/R.exe. On a Mac, doing this requires typing something like the following into your command line (depending on exactly where R is installed on your system): /Applications/R.app/Contents/MacOS/R. If you can’t open R by just typing R, you have to launch it by putting in the absolute path to your R installation. Don’t open it by double clicking its icon! Open R by opening your command line tool (Oh-My-Zsh on Mac, Cmder in Windows) and typing R. First Step: You can install the IRkernel packages by running the following command in an R console:install.packages('IRkernel') Second Step: You will have to make Jupyter see the newly installed R kernel by installing a kernel spec. If you do not have R installed, download and install it here. Once that’s done, we’re ready to setup R to work with Jupyter! To setup R to work with Jupyter Notebooks, though, we have to do a real jupyter installation. ![]() Install Jupyter with miniconda ¶Įven though we’ve been using jupyter notebooks in VS Code so you might think you’ve already installed jupyter, VS Code is just using a little version of jupyter that comes bundled with the editor. That means that you can use Jupyter notebooks for more than Python! In this reading, I’ll show you how to setup R to work with Jupyter Notebooks. In the Jupyter ecosystem, the program being used to actually run your analysis (i.e. Python, R) is referred to as a kernel. Steps to Add R to Jupyter Notebook Step 1: Open the Anaconda Prompt To start, open the Anaconda Prompt. This makes it possible to create one interface (a text editor, a window where results are displayed, etc.) that can be used to run your analyses in any number of different programs. As we discussed before, the idea of Jupyter is to separate the interface you are working with from the underlying programming language doing your analysis. ![]() Shown: Light Bone/Cobblestone/Gum Light Brown/Light Bone. There’s plenty of flavour coating the stir fry ingredients that stains and flavours the rice when you mix it through. So you don’t need nor do you want a ton of sauce to soak your rice. Stir fries featuring cashews are a favourite across Asia and the Thai version is one of the best! Unlike Chinese Cashew Chicken which is generous on sauce, the Thai version is a drier style stir fry where the sauce flavour is much more intense. This is a great Thai food favourite that’s incredibly quick to make. Crunchy golden cashews and chicken are tossed in a simple yet bold Thai stir fry sauce with as much or as little fresh chilli as you want! Everything is brought together by the sticky sauce that is savory, sour and sweet. While Thai Cashew Chicken is not as saucy as Chinese Cashew Chicken, what it lacks in sauciness it makes up for in big flavour. Once done, the chicken will be just cooked through, tender and juicy, and the pepper still crisp. Add back the chicken and mix everything together.Take out the chicken once it’s just cooked through. So it’s very important that you’ve got everything ready to go and that you’ve read through the recipe. Once you heat up the pan, the cooking won’t take more than 4 to 5 minutes. Chinese stir fry is a very fast-moving process. Make sure you have all the ingredients ready near your stove. So a large flat non-stick pan is your next best choice. Plus, since the cashew chicken sauce contains vinegar, it will unseason a cast iron or carbon steel wok. Long story short – your home stove usually cannot generate enough heat for cooking. stir fry pan) to explain the reasons behind this. Not only does it create juicy chicken with less oil, but the finished dish will taste as great as if you had cooked it in a wok. If you, like me, don’t own a gas stove, the best way to cook this dish is to use a large nonstick pan. How to cook cashew chicken No wok required! Aromatics (green onion, garlic, ginger).Once you’re ready to cook, your table should have: I believe you should always use high-quality oyster sauce (such as LKK oyster sauce) in this dish instead of hoisin sauce, to create a richer taste. The sauce uses oyster sauce as a base, with a small amount of Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, Chinkiang vinegar and a touch of sugar to create a rich and complex sauce that is savory, sour and slightly sweet. It’s especially important for chicken breast because it can dry out so easily if you leave it in the pan a bit too long. The cornstarch protects the chicken from the hot pan so it won’t get overcooked. Using Shaoxing wine and salt makes the chicken so much more flavorful. This key step takes an extra three minutes but will make such a difference to your dish. But if you like a richer flavor and texture, boneless, skinless chicken thighs work perfectly, too. The authentic Chinese version uses chicken breast, and so does the recipe below. Oh my, it’s like an amusement park in your mouth! Cashew chicken ingredients What cut of chicken to use Scoop a spoonful with some hot steamed rice. Then you finish up the dish with colorful pepper and nutty cashews. The sauce is made from rich oyster sauce, a touch of vinegar, some soy sauce, some sugar, and tons of aromatics, which combine to make the sauce very fragrant, gingery, and garlicky. The chicken breast is briefly marinated, resulting in juicy, tender bites that are very flavorful. Cashew chicken is no doubt a winner by these metrics. On the dinner table of a Chinese family, it’s quite important to serve food that is nutritious, balanced with veggies and grains, bursting with flavor, and beautiful to the eyes. It is very easy to make and you don’t need a wok! ![]() A takeout style cashew chicken recipe that teaches you how to make restaurant-style cashew chicken with super juicy and tender meat and crisp pepper and cashews, all brought together with a rich, gingery, garlicky sauce. Filming in the deep ocean required the use of special submersibles. Meanwhile, in Monterey Bay, orca were documented trapping grey whales and killing a calf. Near the coast of Natal in South Africa, the team spent two seasons attempting to film the annual sardine run, a huge congregation of predators such as sharks and dolphins that assembles to feast on the migrating fish by corralling them into 'bait balls'. Off Mexico, the behaviour of a flock of frigatebirds guided the cameramen to a group of sailfish and marlin: the fastest inhabitants of the sea. After six weeks, the crew chanced upon a school of spinner dolphins, which in turn led them to a shoal of tuna. The open ocean proved more difficult and over 400 days were invested in often unsuccessful filming trips. The camera team spent three years on standby, using a microlight to land on the water nearby when they finally caught up with the creatures in the Gulf of California. The producers were helped by marine scientists all over the world with state-of-the-art equipment.īlue whales - whose migration routes were previously unknown - were located by air, after some of the animals had been given temporary radio tags. Besides witnessing animal behaviour for the first time, the crew also observed some that were new to science. The fact that most of the ocean environment remains a mystery presented the production team with many challenges. Seeing this firsthand has made viewers around the world care deeply and adjust their actions accordingly-so it’s a pity that so many Americans didn’t get the message. The series took almost five years to make, involving nearly 200 filming locations. They’re captivating, sometimes mystifying, and undoubtedly under threat. Over and over, the series makes the case for the weird, obscure, astonishing organisms that will be (and have been) lost as a result of our actions. America, by contrast, is more polarized, with climate change denialism, mistrust of scientists, and antipathy to the environment deeply entrenched in the GOP, while Democrats continue to tiptoe around the issue.īlue Planet II shows that you don’t need anthropomorphism to win the hearts of your audience. The Tories may not have a great track record either-and their efforts to capitalize on Blue Planet II read mostly as a cynical move for a government in crisis-but their shortcomings stem more from a failure to prioritize the environment than a refusal to acknowledge there’s a problem. Republicans are an anomaly among conservative parties worldwide for their anti–climate change stance. But as the most overtly “political” series ever to come out of the NHU in terms of acknowledging human culpability, it may have alienated a certain percentage of American viewers from the outset. It also makes it clear that these things are our fault. The series shows us young albatrosses who’ve choked on plastic, the grim reality of coral bleaching, and the autopsy of a young dolphin. It’s a product of the BBC Natural History Unit’s careful, extensive experimentation to find the right balance between science and spectacle. We have to find other ways to communicate to people about it, not just lecture them.” In other words, he made a bet that his soft-pedaling approach would help the film reach a wider audience, and he was right.īlue Planet II pulls no such punches.
